Autumn is definitely here in Colorado. It’s getting nice and cool at night, but still hitting the 70s during the day. A perfect mix. We haven’t had our first snow yet, but I expect it will be here within a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I plan to take advantage of things the way they are.
I spent a little over an hour on the patio tonight, reading a good book, sipping some of my favorite local bourbon, and taking slow, deep breaths of the wonderful cool Colorado air. I’m not sure it gets better than this.
And now it’s time for bed.
On my porch in Colorado, sipping a drink made with Colorado Bourbon and Colorado Bitters (as well as some sweet vermouth, Angostura Bitters and cherries), listening to a Colorado bird sing a Colorado bird song, reading a good book on my iPad, sitting in a comfy chair, a cool breeze accenting it all.
Not a bad way to spend part of an evening. And now, time for bed.
I so enjoyed the Manhattan I had at Mercury Cafe a few weeks ago, I got the necessary vermouth and bitters last weekend. Tonight I mixed them all up and made one at the house. That’s what you see above.
Damn, it’s tasty, although I did forget the cherries.
